BT partners drafts Resource Mobilization Strategy

For continued existence, financial self-reliance, and sustainability of the community-based organizations under Brain Trust consortium, exploring new avenues for financial support is very important. These organizations must not depend only on the external funding support, as it might be inconsistent, temporary and based on the priorities of funding agencies/ donors rather than on the real need at the grassroots.
In order to devise an innovative strategy for resource mobilization, KMET held a two day spirited training on resource mobilization and budgeting for the Brain Trust (BT) partners.
The partners were trained on proposal writing, identifying prospective funders and project budgeting. The workshop also explored and review the 2015-2018 BT resource mobilization strategy, refine the strategy and at the end of the training the partners drafted a two year targeted resource mobilization strategy and KMET would grant financial assistance for kick-start.
The meeting took place at Siaya town hotel and brought together all the BT partners from Siaya, Migori and Kisumu Counties.
