KMET commemorates world contraception day

In-order to secure a future where every pregnancy is wanted, the new generation should be able to make an informed decision about their reproductive health rights. This is only achievable when everyone takes the responsibility. World Contraception Day takes place on September 26th every year. It is a worldwide campaign to improve awareness of contraception use among women of reproductive age.

In honor of this day KMET collaborated with other partners in celebrating the 10th anniversary of the World Contraceptive Day since its inception in 2007 with the theme ‘it’s your life it’s your choice,’ A number of services were available to all women including  Ultra sound services which was being offered by KMET.

The event provided a platform for women to learn more about family planning and other reproductive health services and to eliminate the confusion of choosing a method, which is more suitable to them given that there are a number of methods available.

In attendance was the chief guest Deputy Governor Dr. Mathews Owilli who recognized the importance of the CHVs in the community.” The CHVs in many cases help us even Identify any disease outbreak apart from referring clients to the facilities.”
